Conrad Murray Sentenced

I'm sure you all have heard the news of the day: Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison.  Does it come as a surprise? Should he have gotten more time? Has justice really been served? Does Michael's family feel some sense of peace now that this trial is over?  I'm sure questions like these and many more are being asked as what was one of the most talked about trials of 2011 comes to a close.

Cyber Monday In All Its Splendor

Well, I'm sure if you didn't get out to experience Black Friday in all of its madness and chaos, there is a good chance you are at home or work where it's safe from any hair pulling, stampedes, and catfights, tucked safely behind your computer with a credit card in hand.

My Day After Black Friday

I hope that you enjoyed your time with friends and family during the Thanksgiving holiday and traveled safely to and from your respective destinations.  If you were one of thousands out and about on Black Friday in search of deals on all things from electronics to clothing, I’m sure you or should I say, I hope you came home a happy camper with your discounted purchases.

Give Me Some Milk + Honey

One thing that I love about the World Wide Web is that it has opened the floodgates for so many creative types to display their talent.  The web series has taken "scripted" to a new avenue, opening up options for viewers to experience something different all while spending their time online.

Thanksgiving Day Attire

I know glamming it up for Thanksgiving is just as important for some as the turkey, but for those of you who like to keep it chic and comfortable, but with a fierce twist, here are two options on the casual and dressy side to help you get your stylish juices flowing.

Never Say Never To Preparing Thanksgiving Dinner

Yeah, he looks good and no, I did not make this. :)

I’m not sure why I woke up with “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”, on repeat through my head, but I guess I can attribute that to the beginning stages of feeling the holiday spirit.  I loved this time of year growing up and do so even more as an adult.  There really is nothing like the holiday season.

The Classic Trench Coat

J. Crew Icon Trench Coat in Cashmere
I can remember growing up my father and mother wearing the trench coat. Looking at it with the eyes of a child, I thought, “What an ugly coat.  Why all those big buttons and why are my parents wearing it?” Little did I know back then what a staple the trench coat was.

I wanted to share with readers of Media & Stilettos a few of my favorite products that I like to use. Some I have been using for years and others most recently, but because I use them and have come to love using them, I wanted to share them with you.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color

I have developed an obsession with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color.  For many years, I would not bother with polishing my nails for the fact that within two days of polishing them, they would start to chip.  As a woman who is very much into keeping my outward appearance together, imagine how frustrating it was for me to have to deal with chipped nail polish (such a pet peeve of mine).  So to avoid the wasted time in polishing my nails, I just opted not to polish them at all, outside of a clear top coat. That is until I came across my new best friend, Sally Hansen.

The End of a Hollywood Marriage

By now, I’m sure everyone has heard the news, but are not surprised to have seen it coming, Demi Moore has decided to divorce Ashton Kutcher.  Reports have been swirling around in the media for months now that the pair was having marital issues, stemming from Kutcher supposedly stepping outside of the marriage for a little extra-marital fun.  But when these two initially “hooked up” in 2003, when Moore was 41 and Kutcher 25, was this truly a match made in heaven?  Is age really only a number?  I do not doubt that they loved each other, but somewhere in this six year marriage, something changed the dynamic of their union which lead to this unfortunate end.

Kris Jenner...and All Things Kardashian

Love them or hate them, the Kardashians, have built an empire that has garnered so much success, that one can only wonder what they will do next.  But the success of the Kardashians is not based solely off of their famous last name and commitment to hard work; it’s their mother, Kris Jenner, who is the mastermind behind what the world has come to know and love as a household name.

The Reality Of It All

I will be the first to admit it; I love reality television.  I’m guilty of watching the clock to make sure I’m in front to the TV to catch the opening scene from where a show left off the week before.  But recently, I feel myself disturbed by what I’m seeing.  I’m watching women on these shows lose something of importance; their power.  With every cat fight and act of self-inflicted disrespect, their power is diminishing right before my very eyes.

Creative Energy

For the past few weeks now, I have been thinking of starting a blog.  You know, someplace where I can put more of my ever increasing creative energy (like I need something else to keep up with), share my thoughts and down to earth opinions on things that interest me the most, and get back in the swing of rekindling my love affair with my first love...writing.

So here we are.  This should be fun!
