Marvel's The Avengers made Hollywood history this weekend, earning $200.3
million to become the highest-grossing
opening film of all time. This total beats the record set by 2011's Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Pt 2, which earned $169.2
million during its opening weekend.
Avengers opened
internationally two weeks ago and collected $441.5 million across 52 global
markets, bringing the film's total revenues to $641.8 million and
surpassing The Hunger Games as 2012's top-grossing
worldwide releases.
