Megan Good & Fiance' Decide Celibacy Until Wedding Night is the Best Policy

Yesterday on Life & Style magazine’s website where was a post stating that Megan Good and her fiance’, minister and film producer, DeVon Franklin have been celibate for a year.  In other words, their wedding night will be the first night that they have ever been “together”.

When I read the post I thought, wow, what an amazing decision for a couple to make.  Not only that, it shows something very apparent - that their love and faith for God is strong, which is a solid foundation for them to build their marriage upon and that their love, respect, and attraction for each other is not based off of how the other is performing in bed.

Role Models? Seriously?

When I saw the cover of the June issue of Vibe with reality television stars, Kandi, Tamar, Evelyn, and Chrissy with the caption – “Meet Your New Role Models”, I thought they have to be kidding! Once the cover was revealed, Twitter lit up like a Christmas tree.  Everyone was voicing their opinions on this cover and let’s just say that the majority of them weren’t polite.  I cannot seem to fathom why Vibe would go this route. Having them on the cover, okay cool, but the caption?  Really?  Role models?  Seriously? 

Holiday Weekend Reading

Hi fabulous ones!  It has been quite a spell since posting last, but my life has picked up speed and between you and me, I would't have it any other way.  

It's Memorial Day Weekend and I am looking forward to kicking back, enjoying the sun, and catching up on some reading.  I rounded up the June issues of my favorite magazines earlier this week and I am ready to curl up and thumb through the glossy pages. I'm so excited, I can't wait.  I wonder if there is a condition for someone who gets excited to read magazines and if so what would they call it? Magazineitis??

I Get Personal

*NEWS FLASH* I started another blog, but this one has nothing to do with fashion or the media. This one is more on the personal side than anything else.  I started this blog because I felt a need to have a space where I can express myself and share bits and pieces of my life outside of business, fashion, and the media.

I had the domain GlenysClarice.net for years, but never did anything with it, so last Friday the thought came, "just do blog" and within five minutes it was up.

I hope my personal story of me living and loving life on my terms can inspire someone else.

Show Stealer - Beyonce Works The Met Gala Red Carpet

There are no words for what this dress is. Fabulous? Fierce? Fashionable? No, it's simply ah-maze-ing! Beyonce, although a little late arriving, made the wait well worth it for those lining the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum looking to get a glimpse of the new mom. This dress needed to be seen from all angles and the body that wore it wore it well. She did it justice.

Avengers A Blockbuster Hit

Marvel's The Avengers made Hollywood history this weekend, earning $200.3 million to become the highest-grossing opening film of all time. This total beats the record set by 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Pt 2, which earned $169.2 million during its opening weekend.  

Avengers opened internationally two weeks ago and collected $441.5 million across 52 global markets, bringing the film's total revenues to $641.8 million and surpassing The Hunger Games as 2012's top-grossing worldwide releases.

What I'm Reading for the Month of May

If you need to know one of the most important things about me it's that I LOVE to read. I have tons of books that will one day line the floor to ceiling book shelves in the library in my dream home (one day). I'm always buying books and in most cases will by books before I buy something to wear.

The weekend is over, but I'm still in that kind of mood where anything casual goes and if a maxi skirt, tank, and a fedora is involved I'm one happy chic chick.

The great thing about this set is that you can dress it up for the office, by paring the maxi skirt with wedges and slipping on a lightweight cardigan over the tank, eliminating the fedora and thong sandals.

Everything about this set works, keeping elements of spring alive as you make a fashion statement worthy of attention.

Hats Horses and Celebrities: 2012 Kentucky Derby

I did not attend the Kentucky Derby, but oh how I wish I did (making a mental note for next year). The celebrities, the fashion, the big hats...oh my! If you watched any of it on television you got a glimpse, but if you were actually there I'm sure it all was an exciting sight to behold.
